Porsche, in an effort to create vehicles for all tastes, has introduced three new versions of its Taycan electric vehicle, bringing the total to 16. Not all 16 versions are available in Canada.

In a first for the Taycan cars, customers can choose the entry level version with all-wheel drive with the addition of the Taycan 4. This version is not currently available in Canada and there’s no word if it will be.

The other two models include the sportier Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, both of which can now be ordered in Canada. The Sport Turismo signifies a wagon-like body style.

The new versions are expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2025.

“With the extremely wide-ranging Taycan lineup, we meet a wide range of customer wishes and mobility needs. Our three latest innovations exemplify this exceptional breadth,” said Kevin Giek, vice president, model line, in a news release. “Even the first generation of the Taycan GTS was was already the sporty standard-bearer of the model line, positioned between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo. And the new edition is no exception. And at the other end of the range, the Taycan 4 sports sedan combines the high efficiency of the entry-level model with the superior handling of all-wheel drive.”

Taycan 4

The 2025 Taycan 4 builds on the entry-level rear-wheel-drive model but adds all-wheel drive.

The Taycan 4 is available with the standard Performance battery with an estimated range of 559 kilometres or with the optional Performance Battery Plus giving it an estimated range of 643 kilometres, which is about 35 kilometres less than the rear-wheel-drive versions.

The Taycan 4 can also accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, the automaker says.

Taycan GTS

The two 2025 GTS models, whether in sedan or Sport Turismo body style, have up to 690 hp, when overboost is used in launch control. Without overboost, there’s still 597 hp.

Zero to 100 km/h arrives in 3.3 seconds. That’s quicker than the previous version (available as a 2024 model) which has a reported acceleration time of 3.7 seconds.

The sedan version of the GTS can also accelerate to 200 km/h in 10.4 seconds, which is 1.6 seconds quicker than the previous version.

Porsche said the GTS gets a distinctive sound profile to set it apart from other Taycan models.

Electric range in this model is estimated at 628 kilometres, which is 120 kilometres more than the previous GTS.

The GTS models ride on 20-inch wheels with 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels available, and the vehicle has numerous standard and available features, including a standard Bose surround sound, adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management, which is combined with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and more.

The GTS sedan has a starting Canadian MSRP of $167,200, which comes to about $187,642 after fees and levies.

The GTS Sport Turismo has a starting Canadian MSRP of $169,500, which comes to about $190,402 after fees and levies.
