The John Cooper Works models have arrived on Mini’s latest-generation of Cooper cars.
The automaker announced details of the JCW models, which will be available in two-door hatchback and convertible body styles.
Powered by turbocharged 2-litre four-cylinder engines, the JCW cars have 231 hp and 280 lb.-ft. of torque. New for the latest generation is a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Zero to 100 km/h is reported to arrive in 6.1 seconds on the hatchback and 6.4 seconds on the convertible, while the maximum speed is 250 km/h in the hatchback and 245 km/h in the convertible.

Canadian pricing and market launch date have not been announced.
The minimalist design style of the current generation remains on the JCW with some added styling flourishes, including a large octogonal front grille in high-glass black and a three-colour John Cooper Works logo and wide air vents on the front, as well as daytime running light designs exclusive to the JCW models. There are also optional red or black hood stripes.
At the rear, there is a spoiler and diffuser, and a centrally positioned tailpipe.
Available wheel sizes measure 17 and 18 inches.

The simple design remains on the interior, but in a JCW colour scheme of red and black with sports seats providing support during spirited driving. There’s also a JCW sports steering wheel with shift paddles. The dashboard stitching gets a black and red pattern.
On the tech front, you get a Harman Kardon sound system as standard and an OLED display with a diameter of 240 mm. Set the car to Go-Kart mode and the cockpit ambience changes, with the displaying showing various performance-related data such as torque, speed and g-force.

The JCW get their own suspension settings for a go-kart feeling and agile handling, the automaker says, and the brakes are painted in Chili Red colour with a JCW logo.
