British automotive marque Aston Martin is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film “Goldfinger” with a special, limited-edition car worthy of the British spy himself.

The automaker’s bespoke personlization service, Q by Aston Martin, has crafted the DB12 Goldfinger Edition. The car is based on the DB12, which debuted in 2023, but adds some creative touches throughout that fans of the 007 films may appreciate. Bond’s vehicle of choice in the 1964 film was the Aston Martin DB5.

So what’s the DB12 Goldfinger Edition?

For starters, the car gets the same twin-turbo 4-litre V8 engine that powers the DB12. The engine produces 671 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque.

The car is adorned in the Silver Birch paint colour used on the DB5 in “Goldfinger,” plus it gets 21-inch, multi-spoke wheels with a unique silver colour with a diamond treatment finish, black brake calipers, bespoke gold side strakes and a unique Aston Martin logo in silver with black enamel. There is also a bright chrome “Q” fender badge.

Moving onto the interior, the car’s Sport Plus leather seats are finished in a DB5 flouted style with a Prince of Wales check perforation pattern, which Aston Martin says is a nod to the classic James Bond suit. The pattern is also used on the door inserts, the headliner and is etched onto the treadplate. A polished sill plaque features the Goldfinger 60th anniversary logo.

There are also 18k gold-plated interior accents, which decorate the drive mode rotary dial and roller controls. Adding to this, there is a notched gear selector, with a design inspired by the golden tracking device in the film.

Gold metal fibres are also weaved into the 2×2 twill gloss carbon fibre, and an eight of hearts is embroidered into the driver’s sun visor.

Incorporating these subtle but impactful touches, developed by our own ‘Q’ department has created a very unique offering; one that will be adored by Bond fans across the world.”

Available globally

In a bit of good news for potential buyers, the car will be released globally, which means Canadians who can afford it will be able to buy it.

However, only 60 of these will be created in total, so it’s possible that by the time you are reading this the car is already sold out. The price was not announced.

First deliveries of the car will begin in the second quarter of 2025.
