There’s no mistaking a Rolls-Royce and that certainly holds true with the latest Ghost Series II, which the automaker announced recently.
The four-door car is an evolution of the company’s Ghost series of cars, which launched in 2009 as a vehicle for the brand’s younger buyers.
The latest car continues to be powered by a V12 engine, at a time when so many automaker are reducing the number of pistons motivating their cars.
Rolls-Royce didn’t specify the exact power figure of the engine, but existing uses of the 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 produce 563 hp. Additionally, the car’s maximum torque is achieved at just 1,600 rpm.
The car also features all-wheel steering and four-wheel drive.

“Ghost is renowned as a uniquely expressive, agile, and self-assured representation of the Rolls-Royce brand. At our clients’ request, this new Series II iteration remains faithful to these principles, incorporating a potent and uncompromising engine and the essential potential for Bespoke. Meaningful exterior and material updates make an even more expressive and impactful statement. This new generation of Ghost also has extraordinary handling capabilities based on a number of advanced chassis innovations. This secures Ghost Series II’s status as the most technologically advanced and driver-focused V12 Rolls-Royce ever created – a side of Ghost’s character that our clients increasingly and enthusiastically embrace,” said Chris Brownridge, chief executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, in a news release.
Rolls-Royce says the Ghost Series II is more closely aligned with its sheer, monolithic design approach than past Ghost cars. The front end has an illuminated Rolls-Royce Pantheon grille, headlights and daytime running light graphics that flow from the lower section of the grille, new chrome embellishments.

The rear gets new tail lamps, inspired by the Spectre, with vertical light panels flanked by curved chrome elements and inscribed, discreetly, with the automaker’s double R monogram.
The nine-spoke wheels measure 22 inches, available in either fully or partially polished.
A new exterior colour, called Mustique Blue, has been created for the car, which is joining Rolls-Royce’s palette of more than 44,000 hues in its Bespoke colour service.

Interior
The interior is a celebration of analogue and digital craftsmanship, the automaker says.
There’s a central information display, featuring the company’s most advanced operating system, is housed within a new pillar-to-pillar glass panel. The system allows clients to tailor the colours and digital instrument dials to complement the interior colours.
The rear screens can connect to two streaming devices independently, so each backseat occupant can choose their own entertainment. The system pairs with Bluetooth headphones of any type, plus there is a Wi-Fi hotspot, upgraded for this car, and USB-C charging ports, which are hidden in the centre console.

The car’s 18-speaker audio system features a 1,400-watt amplifier. Customers can further enhance the sound system with the automaker’s Bespoke service.
There’s really too much to say about the craftsmanship of the interior, so we’ll mostly let the photos do the talking. But the fabric used in the car is worth mentioning.
The rayon fabric made of bamboo was created by Duality Twill, which spent more than a year to create a full interior that incorporates 2.2 million stitches and 11 miles of thread. Each panel is individually prepared before it is cut with a special laser that seals the edges to prevent threads from coming loose. These are used to upholster the car’s seating.

Ghost Extended Series II
Need more rear-seat space in your luxury car? Luckily for those who do, the car is also available as the Ghost Extended Series II, which adds another 170 mm of interior space in the back seats.
This is achieved by extending the rear doors and apertures only, without impacting the car’s silhouette.
Buyers of this car can also can also request the automaker’s reclining Serenity Seating and a Champagne cooler, which can run at 6 C, which ideal for non-vintage Champagne, and 11 C for vintage Champagne.

Black Badge
The car is also available as the Black Badge Ghost Series II.
While many Rolls-Royce owners will be chauffeured, Black Badge cars are built with a driver focus, intended for owners to drive their cars for themselves.
“As an authentic House of Luxury, we are driven by the desires of our clients. Our Black Badge series of motor cars is a space that we have created within our brand for them to make the most daring and self-confident statements,” Brownridge said in the release.
“Black Badge Ghost responds to a very specific demand among these individuals – those who wish to enjoy the potency of this motor car’s uncompromising engine and inherent agility almost exclusively from the driver’s seat. For Black Badge Ghost Series II, we have enhanced its owner-driver appeal by incorporating a high-power expression of our legendary engine along with an even more assertive and technical design treatment and textile palette. This motor car, which is the most powerful and driver-focused V12 Rolls-Royce ever, signals our ongoing commitment to the world’s boldest and most dynamic super-luxury consumers.”

The styling of the Black Badge car is more dramatic, with darkened components, unique wheels and much more.
