Honda promises a thrilling drive for anyone who steps into a Civic Type R. But just how much does this thrilling drive cost?
The 2025 Honda Civic Type R has a starting Canadian price (based on Ontario fees and levies) of $54,766, which includes freight, PDI and fees. Tax is extra.
Only one trim of the hot hatch is available.
The Type R is powered by a turbocharged 2-litre, four-cylinder VTEC engine with 315 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission with rev-match control powering the front wheels.
Bringing the car to a halt are four-piston Brembo brakes up front.
Drivers can chose from four drive modes, including Comfort, Sport, Individual and +R, the last of which is intended for track use.
There’s an adaptive damper system to adjust the damping force, as well as a helical limited slip differential and dual-axis independent strut front suspension for improved control through turns.
The car also features the LogR app, which helps improve driving techniques to achieve better track times in a closed-course setting.
For improved safety, the Type R gets a variety of active safety tech, including traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, a forward collision warning system and a collision mitigation braking system.
