Toyota Canada has released details of the 2025 Crown premium performance sedan, including what’s new for the car.

To start, the car is available in two trims, Limited and Platinum.

Limited

The Limited model is gaining new features, which includes a digital key, traffic jam assist, front cross traffic alert, lane change assist, a driver monitor camera, and a panoramic view monitor system.

The Limited model also features Toyota Multimedia (featuring Service Connect, Safety Connect, Remote Connect, and, new this year, Drive Connect), 19-inch alloy wheels, illuminated entry lights, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, garage door opener, four-door Toyota Smart Key system, rain sensing wipers, and a backup camera.

The Limited model is powered by Toyota’s fourth-generation self-charging system featuring a 2.5-litre engine, two electric motors and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. Total system output is 236 hp and a fuel economy is rated at city-highway combined 5.7 L/100 km. The model features on-demand all-wheel drive.

Platinum

The Platinum model also gets new features. New this year, the Platinum trim gets a head-up display with navigation, dynamic rear steering, a power tilting/telescoping steering column with memory settings, and a power trunk with kick-sensor for hands-free opening/closing.

The Platinum trim builds on what the Limited model features and rides on 21-inch alloy wheels and features dual exhaust tips and the Advanced Park system.

The Platinum model is powered by the Toyota Hybrid Max powertrain, which features a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine, electric motors and a direct shift six-speed automatic transmission. Total system output is 340 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is rated at city-highway combined 7.8 L/100 km.

“With its bold styling and a choice of two powerful yet efficient hybrid-electric powertrains coupled to on-demand all-wheel-drive, the Crown is ready to take Canadians on a breathtaking journey,” said Cyril Dimitris, vice president, Toyota Canada Inc., in a news release. “It’s everything a modern premium sedan should be – and a fitting tribute to one of the core vehicles that helped launch Toyota in Canada 60 years ago.”

The Canadian MSRP is as follows:

  • Limited – $54,387
  • Platinum – $63,820

The MSRP doesn’t include fees, levies or taxes.
