Toyota Canada has announced details of the 2025 Sienna, including what’s new for the model year.
For starters, the minivan has a new trim available with the inclusion of the Platinum grade as well as a new advanced rear seat reminder.
Rear sear reminder
The new radar-based advanced rear seat reminder comes on all grades of the Sienna. It detects movement in the rear seats to alert you if an occupant is left in the vehicle after it has been turned off.
If the system senses movement in the scanned area after the ignition has been switched off, the driver’s door has been opened then closed and the vehicle has been locked, it will flash the hazard lights and sound the door lock chime.
After 90 seconds of this, if movement is still detected, the system will sound the horn.
If the driver opted into the advanced rear seat reminder notifications on their Toyota app, they will receive a notification on their app approximately four minutes after the horn started sounding. Then, after another two minutes, the system will place a phone call to the driver’s phone.

Platinum grade
The Platinum grade features a new console with Vacuum and FridgeBox as well as a 10-inch head-up display with speedometer, navigation and hybrid system indicator, and new two-tone 18-inch wheel design.
When turned on, the FridgeBox, which is accessible from the first and second row, keeps drinks and snacks cool.
The Platinum grade, like the Limited grade, features leather-trimmed heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats, leather-trimmed second-row captain’s chairs with super-long-slide feature and ottomans. The second-row captain’s chairs are heated on Limited and Platinum grades. These two grades receive a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Toyota Multimedia system and 12-speaker JBL audio system.
These two grades also feature a digital rear-view mirror, 11.6-inch 1080p entertainment centre with HDMI input and remote control.
These two grades also have an available spare tire and power inverter.

Other updates
Toyota says the seats, console and dashboard were updated on all grades. The XSE, Limited and Platinum grades also now come with a standard digital gauge cluster. The Qi wireless phone charger is now faster than before and all grades of the minivan include dual microphones for improved phone call clarity, USB-C charging throughout the cabin and a USB-A port in the dash.
Models equipped with the 12.3-inch touchscreen, XLE and above, get the latest Toyota Multimedia system.
All Sienna minivans are powered by a hybrid powertrain featuring a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and can be had in front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive variants.

The 2025 Sienna is expected to arrive at Canadian dealerships this fall. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
