BMW Group Canada is celebrating 25 years of the X5 with a special, Canadian-exclusive, limited-edition version of the SUV.
The 2025 BMW X5 Edition 25 Jahre will be limited to 250 units.
The first BMW X5 came off the line at BMW’s plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Sept. 1, 1999. Since then, the automaker has built nearly three million X5s at the plant and sold them around the world.
The Edition 25 Jahre is based on the 2025 X5 xDrive40i model.
It combines two colours from the original X5 as well as some unique styling elements.
The two colours include Oxford Green II Metallic and Le Mans Blue Metallic, chosen because they were two of the colours available when the first generation X5 launched.
The units with the Le Mans Blue Metallic colour are paired with a Silverstone Sensafin interior and Poplar Grain Anthracite Brown open-pored trim.
The Oxford Green II Metallic units are paired with Coffee Sensafin interior and Fineline Stripe Brown high-gloss trim.

In terms of unique styling elements, the special edition model blends xLine and M Sport designs. This includes gloss black window surrounds and black exterior contents, which are usually only available for models with the M Sport and M Sport Pro packages, as well as shadowline headlights and 21-inch Y-spoke wheels in Orbit Grey. The bumpers and rocker panels, however, get the xLine’s aluminum-accented pieces.
An optional xOffroad Package is exclusive to this version as well. This package can adjust the vehicle’s settings, including ride height, transmission shift strategy, throttle mapping and more, depending on the terrain. The package also includes two-axle air suspension for greater ground clearance, a mechanical rear differential lock and underbody protection plates, and it adds an xOffroad View in the central display that shows the driver ground clearance, roll tendency, and the inclination or downhill gradient of the terrain.
Every X5 Edition 25 Jahre vehicle features standard an M Sport Differential, Harman-Kardon surround sound system, heated front and rear seats, heated arm rests, heated steering wheel, remote engine start, sunshades, trailer hitch, and Parking Assistance Professional.
The models have a base MSRP of $102,500. They will be available at Canadian BMW dealers in the fourth quarter of 2024.
