Bentley has launched its fourth-generation Flying Spur.
That the new car is the automaker’s most powerful sedan ever is perhaps not so surprising, but that it has fewer cylinders than the car it replaces while also providing miles of electric driving range is.
The 2025 Flying Spur is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor with 187 hp powered by a 25.9-kWh battery. This powertrain, which Bentley calls Ultra Performance Hybrid, replaces the outgoing model’s W12 motor.
This new car has a total of 771 hp and 738 lb.-ft. of torque, 145 more hp and 74 more lb.-ft. than the outgoing car.
Bentley says zero to 100 km/h arrives in 3.5 seconds.
Furthermore, the car is said to have 76 kilometres of electric driving range.
The 2025 Flying Spur features a new grille, bumper, diffuser, optional 22-inch wheels, and dark tint trim.

On the inside, there’s a new Precision Diamond quilt pattern on the seats, a Precision 3D diamond hide on the doors and B-pillars as well as new Wellness seating with postural adjust and seat auto climate available for all four seats.
Furthermore, the automaker says there is virtually a limitless number of possible configurations. This includes a range of 101 colours and bespoke paint-matching is also available. On the inside, there are 22 primary hide colours, 11 secondary shades and four colour splits available. Combined, the leather alone has more than 700 colour combinations before the contrasting stitching, piping and bespoke features is considered. There are also eight wood veneer options and three technical finishes. These finishes can also be paint matched to any interior or exterior colour.
“While the exterior design largely retains the familiar, muscular yet elegant design of the third-generation Flying Spur launched in 2019, it’s beneath the skin of the car where the real changes take place – with the all-new powertrain matched with an also-new electrical architecture that brings the most modern suite of automotive technology fitted to any true luxury sedan,” Bentley said in a news release.

An active chassis features Bentley Dynamic Ride and all-wheel steering as well as an electronically controlled limited slip differential, and a new generation of electronic stability control (ESC) software allows for a range of driving styles in all conditions.
The car also has a rear-biased weight distribution of 48.3 to 51.7. Together with chassis systems and the new ESC, the car is said to be mechanically optimized for refinement.
New and advanced twin-valve dampers enable rebound and compression damping to be separately controlled, meaning there’s a noticeable difference between Comfort, Bentley and Sport modes. Bentley says the new system maintains the previous generation’s body control in Sport mode while significantly improving ride comfort in Comfort mode.
There’s a choice of three audio systems. The standard system features 10 speakers and 650 watts, an optional Bang & Olufsen system features 1,500 watts and 16 speakers with illuminated speaker grilles, and lastly a Naim system with 2,200 watts features 19 speakers with active bass transducers built into the front seats. This final system offers eight sound modes.

Laminated acoustic glass on windscreen and side windows results in a nine-decibel reduction in exterior noise compared to non-acoustic glazing, Bentley said.
Comfort is enhanced with seat auto climate and postural adjust, which maintains perfect body temperature via zoned heating and ventilation.
The car’s AC system includes air ionisers and a particulate matter filter. A display shows the air quality outside and inside the vehicle. Thanks to the car’s navigation system, the HVAC system knows when it might time to improve cabin air quality, such as by recirculating the cabin air when travelling in a tunnel.
