Infiniti has pulled the figurative plug on its only remaining sedan in Canada but a replacement car that will need an actual plug is planned.
The Q50 will be discontinued after the 2024 model year in Canada and the United States, Nissan Canada confirmed to this blog.
This is also the automaker’s only remaining car available here as all the other vehicles in Infiniti’s Canadian lineup are SUVs.
“Acting on our commitment to transform our vehicle line with four new products beginning with the all-new 2025 QX80, the Infiniti Q50 sedan will not be available in the United States and Canada after the 2024 model year,” the company wrote in an email.
“The Q50 has an incredible fan base as a formidable sports sedan, while remaining one of our most popular vehicles since its introduction in 2013. The Q50’s spirit will certainly live on in our future sports sedan EV previewed by the Vision Qe concept that made its debut last October.”
The Q50 is powered by a twin-turbo 3-litre V6 engine producing 300 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, while the Red Sport I-Line model get a more powerful engine producing 400 hp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque.
Infiniti Vision Qe

The Vision Qe was displayed at the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto in early 2024.
The concept car is a fastback sedan with a low and wide profile and is said to preview Infiniti’s direction for its first all-electric vehicle.
