Listen to Dodge Charger Daytona’s simulated V8 exhaust sound

There’s more to the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system than a 600-watt set of speakers.

Dodge wants people to know an electric muscle car doesn’t have to sound like a toy car, but it requires some powerful speakers.

The automaker released a video clip of the all-new Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack’s Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system ahead of the car’s availability later this year. The system simulates the iconic V8 sound.

Here’s the video posted to YouTube.

Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust

The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust is a powerful sound system the automaker is incorporating into the electric Charger Daytona.

Below is the automaker’s explanation of how the system works:

“The patent-pending Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system on Dodge Charger Daytona models is equipped with dual bespoke, high-efficiency extreme bandwidth transducers coupled with dual Fratzonic Chamber-loaded passive radiators, all housed in a custom enclosure and powered by a dedicated amplifier with up to 600 watts of power. System features work in concert to generate a deep rumble and visceral feel that aligns with Dodge DNA. Four custom-designed elastomer isolator bushings support the Fratzonic system, working similarly to the isolators of an internal combustion engine exhaust to further enhance the vehicle’s performance profile.”

The system incorporates driver and vehicle inputs, such as accelerator pedal position, speed and torque output, to generate the correct tones.

The sound system is located in the car’s lower rear fascia and can be identified by a Fratzonic text logo.

The Fratzonic name is taken from Dodge’s historic Fratzog logo, which is being used on the brand’s next-generation vehicles, including the new Dodge Charger.

The acoustic intensity of the system changes depending on the drive mode, with Sport Mode featuring a medium sound output, and Drag, Drift, Donut and Track modes providing a louder sound. And, if you want to keep things quiet, there’s a fully silent Stealth Mode as well.

The Charger Daytona is expected to arrive at Canadian dealerships in the fourth-quarter of 2024.
