Members of A Greener Future, a non-profit that aims to clean up the Great Lakes region, will be travelling around southern Ontario in a fully electric vehicle thanks to Volvo Car Canada.
The car company donated $5,000 and the use of its C40 Recharge EV for the organization’s programming.
The financial donation directly supports A Greener Future’s environmental initiatives, which include litter cleanups and educational programming throughout the region.
The C40 Recharge will help members get around to cleanup sites this summer, visiting places from Hamilton to Kingston, and be the primary vehicle for the organization’s Love Your Lakes program.
“Climate change is a pressing issue that demands collective action,” said AGF executive director Rochelle Byrne in a news release. “Volvo Canada’s support allows us to expand the actions we’re taking as an organization and make a more diverse contribution to a cleaner, healthier environment for Lake Ontario residents, beyond just picking up litter.”

“We are proud to support A Greener Future as this partnership aligns with our commitment to sustainability and community impact,” said Julian Pastore, retailer experience and sustainability manager at Volvo Car Canada, in the release. “Together, we are driving positive change across Ontario.”
AGF was founded in 2014 and has a mission to work within local communities to promote environmental protection through organized litter cleanups, education programs and events.
