The Genesis GV60 Magma, a high-performance variant of the of the GV60 electric vehicle, is set to become the first Magma vehicle to enter production.

The EV is set to enter production in 2025 and will hit sales in Korea next year as well. There’s been no word yet on when the model will be available in Canada.

Genesis announced the production start during the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the GV60 Magma Concept was showcased alongside other Magma concept vehicles and Genesis production vehicles.

The production version of the GV60 Magma will closely resemble the concept version, Genesis said.

“We are thrilled to present the global dynamic debut of the GV60 Magma Concept at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed,” said Genesis chief creative officer Luke Donckerwolke in a news release. “The festival’s storied legacy and enthusiastic audience provide an ideal platform to showcase the capabilities of our new Magma program and highlight our strong commitment to high performance. We invite all attendees to immerse themselves in the full Genesis experience and witness the dynamic energy and power of Genesis Magma.”

Magma is a new high-performance program at Genesis (think Mercedes-Benz’s AMG division) that launched in March. The automaker plans to have a Magma version of every vehicle in its existing lineup.

Genesis also showcased other Magma concept vehicles at Goodwood, including G80 EV Magma Concept, G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife, GV80 Coupe Concept and more.

The Track Taxi , by the way, is an enhanced G70 model designed specifically for passenger rides at the Nürburgring race track in Germany.
