Mazda Canada announced pricing and model packaging for its Mazda3 compact sedan and hatchback, with prices increasing by $700 across all trim lines.
The GX, the car’s base model, now has a starting MSRP of $24,900 for the sedan and $25,650 for the Mazda3 Sport (hatchback), which is up from the 2024 model’s pricing of $24,200 and $24,950.
Prices increased across the various trims, right up to the top-of-the-line model, the Suna Edition, which now has a starting MSRP of $39,600, up from $38,900. The MSRP doesn’t include fees, levies and taxes.
While prices were bumped up, the car now comes with new features.
The GX in 2024 included i-Activsense safety features, including advanced blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, which for the 2025 model year also includes Mazda radar cruise control with stop and go function, smart brake support front, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, driver attention alert and high beam control.
The next model up, the GS, now gets a 10.25-inch infotainment display (up from the standard 8.8-inch screen), which was previously a feature of the GS Luxury Package.
In GT models and above, the cars now feature Alexa Built-in, which is a new feature to the Mazda3. Alexa Built-in allows the driver to make hands-free commands for such things as changing the temperature, radio station or using their smartphone devices.
GT models and above also get the Mazda Online Navigation system, which offers expanded route guidance, including select off-road and trail heads, as well as the ability to receive over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Most Mazda 3 models are available with a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G engine that produces 191 hp and 186 lb.-ft. of torque, and, depending on trim level, can be had a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual as well as front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The GX and GS models have front-wheel drive only, GS Luxury Package and GT models models have all-wheel drive as an option, and GT Turbo and Suna Edition cars come with all-wheel drive as standard.
The GT Turbo and Suna Edition feature a Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre turbo engine producing 250 hp and 320 lb.-ft. of torque when using premium 93 octane fuel, or 227 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque on regular 87 octane fuel.
