Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut driver breaks four records in single run

Test driver Markus Lundh broke the 0-400-0 km/h, 0-400 km/h, 0-250-0 mph and 0-250 mph records.

Koenigsegg Automotive is celebrating a record zero to 400 km/h to zero run, which involved breaking four total records.

The 0-400-0 km/h record run, which involved a sprint from zero to 412 km/h and back down to zero, was conducted in a Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut June 27 at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh.

It bested the 0-400-0 km/h record set a year earlier with the Koenigsegg Regera.

Here are the records that were achieved in the latest run:

  • 0-400-0 km/h – 27.83 seconds
  • 0-400 km/h – 18.82 seconds
  • 0-250-0 mph – 28.27 seconds
  • 0-250 mph – 19.20 seconds

The previous 0-400-0 km/h record of 28.81 seconds was set in 2023. The Jesko, in Absolut trim, is designed specifically for straight-line speed, Koenigsegg says. The car’s body is designed with a smaller frontal area, limited and targeted venting to release high-pressure air and no active aero features. This is all intended to minimize drag, with the Jesko Absolut having a drag coefficient of 0.278, which the automaker points out is the lowest in the hypercar segment.

The only modifications made to the car for the record run included a roll cage for safety of the driver, and the inclusion of the One:1 driver seat, the driver’s preference for such events.

Data was recorded using industry-standard timing equipment from Racelogic and verified by Racelogic HQ in the United Kingdom, Koenigsegg says.

“This record run validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its ability to outright be the fastest, fully homologated production car in the world. Now it is all down to tire testing, development, and approval, before we finally can make an attempt at that record,” said company founder Christian von Koenigsegg in a news release.

“In parallel, we plan to see what kind of records the Jesko Attack can achieve, given its astonishing track performance.”
