Automotive enthusiasts who appreciate the old Z cars, whether under the Datsun or Nissan moniker, may be disappointed the Japanese automaker’s homage to the 55-year history of the Z is not coming to Canada.
Nissan announced it is introducing the limited 2024 Nissan Z Heritage Edition.
Nissan Canada, however, confirmed to this blog there is no plan to offer the car in Canada at this time due to its limited supply.
“We will continue to offer the Sport, Performance and NISMO trims for the 2024 model year,” an email from the company said.
What is the Heritage Edition?
The Heritage Edition pays homage to the S30-generation of the Datsun 240Z, which was unveiled 55 years ago in 1969. It features a distinct orange body colour that pays tribute to the original.
The front fascia features more rectangular grille openings, and the 19-inch alloy wheels and fender extensions are said to harken back to the 240Z as well.
The Heritage Edition is based on the Performance model, featuring a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with 400 hp, a mechanical limited-slip differential, Nissan Performance brakes with red calipers and other features.
The car is available with a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.
The car will go on sale this summer in markets where it is available. Not that it matters much to us in Canada but the U.S. MSRP is $59,135.
