In a bit of a lighthearted corporate promotion, Canadian Formula 1 competitor Lance Stroll did the most Canadian thing a race car driver can possibly do: he took his racer through a Tim Hortons drive-thru.
Stroll, a native of Montreal, is competing in the Canadian Grand Prix happening in Montreal June 7 to 9, with the big race on Sunday.
So, ahead of the event, he drove his Tim Hortons-branded Formula 1 car through a drive-thru in Montreal’s west end and ordered a flatbread pizza.
“I have a lot of great memories going to Tim Hortons while growing up in Montreal and so there’s something nostalgic about going on a Tims run when I am back in Canada,” said Stroll in a news release.
“My go-to order has always been an Iced Capp but it was great to sample the delicious new Tims flatbread pizzas while taking the Tim Hortons car for a spin.”
Stroll’s helmet will feature a Tim Hortons Flatbread Pizza logo during the Canadian Grand Prix.
“We’re proud to be partnering with Lance as he returns home for this weekend’s big race,” said Hope Bagozzi, chief marketing officer of Tim Hortons, in the release.
“We know our guests and restaurant owners in Montreal – and everyone right across Canada – will be cheering Lance on and we’re thrilled that he’ll have the Tim Hortons Flatbread Pizza logo on his helmet when he takes to the track.”
