The next generation Toyota Camry, to debut as a 2025 model year, will start at $34,300, before fees and taxes, in Canada.

The 2025 Camry received an updated interior and exterior design, a host of new technology features and comes available as a hybrid model only.

“At Toyota, we know a well-engineered sedan delivers an incredible driving experience that nothing else can match – and for those who love to drive, our designers and engineers have created an all-new, exclusively-electrified Camry that delivers a winning combination of dynamic performance, handling, and comfort,” said Cyril Dimitris, vice president, Toyota Canada Inc., in a news release. “This new Camry also demonstrates how, as the last full-line automaker, Toyota remains committed to offering every Canadian a range of vehicles that addresses their needs, exceeds their expectations, and suits their preferences and lifestyles – including those who love sedans.”

The last part of that quote likely speaks directly about the disappearance of sedans, as few automakers still produce them at this price point. Check out the current lowest-cost mid-size sedan options here.

The ninth-generation Camry comes with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, featuring a 2.5 L four-cylinder engine. On front-wheel-drive models, it has a net-combined 225 hp and 232 hp on all-wheel-drive models.

The electronic on-demand all-wheel-drive system is available across three trim levels: the SE Upgrade, XSE and XLE. It features a dedicated rear electric motor to supply the rear wheels for additional traction, when needed.

Fuel consumption on front-wheel-drive models is rated at of 4.6/4.6/4.6 L/100 km (city/highway/combined), while the SE and XLE all-wheel-drive models are are rated at 5.1/5.1/5.1 L/100 km, and the XSE AWD is rated at 5.3/5.5/5.3 L/100km (city/highway/combined).

Toyota says the car features a retuned suspension with enhanced responsiveness and agile handling. All models feature a MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. The SE and XSE have a sport-tuned suspension with new shock absorbers and a larger diameter front stabilizer bar.

A newly adopted electronically controlled braking system features on-demand pressurization through a new pump motor in the brake actuator to improve controllability and brake feel, Toyota says. Drivers can customize their car’s feel with Normal, Eco and Sport modes.

Wheel sizes range from 16 to 19 inches, depending on the trim.

A seven-inch digital gauge cluster is standard while the XLE and XSE comes with a 12.3-inch screen. The XLE and XSE also come standard with a 10-inch head-up display.

The multimedia touch screen is eight inches on the SE and SE Upgrade or 12.3 inches on the XLE and XSE grades. The car comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging and a number of USB ports.

The car comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which features a per-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-soeed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and proactive driving assist.
