Cambiano, Italy’s Automobili Pininfarina has just delivered a one-off variant of its Battista hypercar, the Battista Reversario, to a client.

The Reversario was inspired by the Battista Anniversario, which celebrated the brand’s 90th anniversary, of which only five were built. The client owns one of those as well.

While you can’t get your hands on the Reversario, Canadians can get the Battista and other Automobili Pininfarina vehicles through the Grand Touring Automobiles retailer in Toronto. The Battista was also on display at the Toronto AutoShow in 2024.

So, what is the Battista?

The Battista is an electric car that is also the most powerful car ever designed and built in Italy, featuring 1,900 hp and can accelerate faster than a Formula 1 car, sprinting from zero to 100 km/h in 1.86 seconds. Zero to 200 km/h is achieved in 4.75 seconds.

Battista’s 120 kWh battery powers four electric motors – one at each wheel – and has a rated range of up to 476 kilometres on a single charge. No more than 150 Battistas will be individually hand-crafted in Cambiano, Italy.

While the car is full of performance capability, Automobili Pininfarina points out it also features a luxurious cabin, and its all-wheel-drive system offers drivers five different dynamics. Those are: Calma, Pura, Energica, Furiosa and Carattere (English: calm, pure, energetic, furious and character).

Reversario

So what is the Battista Reversario?

The automaker launched the Battista Anniversario in 2020 to celebrate 90 years since Battista “Pinin” Farina created the Pininfarina coach builder and design house. Five of these were made available.

The Reversario was custom crafted for a client. It’s colour scheme is inverse of the Anniversario version, with the lower body finished in Bianco Sestriere gloss and the upper body in Grigio Antonelliano gloss.

Pinstripes. consistent with the upper stripe, are in signature Iconica Blu. Bespoke inscriptions, including the vehicle’s unique “Reversario” nameplate, are displayed both forward and “in reflection,” on the carbon side wings and the underside of the active rear wing.

The seats feature white-on-white Alcantara quilting with a perforated background in Iconica Blu. The cabin is primarily black, accents are finished in Iconica Blu.

The Reversario also comes with an exclusive three-piece luggage set, reflecting the commissioning client’s lifestyle. Its briefcase, weekend holdall and suit bag are all finished black leather, trimmed with Iconica Blu edging and an off-white Alcantara quilt.

“Anniversario and Reversario were destined to be created by the Automobili Pininfarina team,” the client is quoted in a news release from Automobili Pininfarina. “I simply challenged them to understand what could be created if you follow your heart and passion. All credit goes to them.”

“Reversario was the ultimate commission,” said Dave Amantea, chief design officer at Automobili Pininfarina, in the release. “Taking inspiration from the original Anniversario, it is a reflection in every aspect, using a timeless combination of colours to create an opposite that works alone and together. This is a vehicle that is the greatest expression of our ‘Dream Cars. Made Real.’ philosophy, to date.”
