Nissan has revealed the next generation of its smallest crossover and the 2025 Kicks will have a host of available tech.

The new Kicks features more interior space than the outgoing model and features a new, bolder design on the exterior.

The 2025 model will have available intelligent all-wheel drive, and a new 2 L inline-four-cylinder engine offering more power and torque, mated to an Xtronic transmission.

The new engine comes with 141 hp and 140 lb.-ft. of torque.

There are three trim levels available on the new model, the S, SV and SR. All-wheel drive is optional on the S and SV and standard on the SR.

A new “snow” mode adjusts the logic of the all-wheel drive system for better cornering in snow or ice.

The car comes with a standard 12.3-inch colour infotainment touchscreen, while the dashboard features a dual-screen setup. One screen is for the instrument cluster and the other for entertainment. In standard trim, the instrument cluster measures at seven inches, while upgrading to the SR model increases the instrument cluster screen size to 12.3 inches, to give you dual 12.3-inch screens.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality is standard.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on all trims. This includes intelligent emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and high-beam assist.

Cruise control is standard and upgrading to the SR adds ProPilot Assist, which adds steering assistance to help keep the driver centred in their lane.

Other features include Easy-Fill Tire Alert, Rear Door Alert, Intelligent Driver Alertness and the SR features Intelligent Around View Monitor, giving the driver a virtual 360-degree bird’s-eye camera around the vehicle to make parking easier.

The SR also has an available Bose 10-speaker audio system.

The front and rear seating areas are roomier than in the outgoing model, as is cargo capacity. There’s also a small, hidden storage compartment below the trunk floor.

The new model will be available in Canada and the U.S. later this summer. Pricing will be available closer to vehicle availability.
