The Dodge Charger is getting a makeover and this time customers will be able to choose either electric or gasoline-burning muscle.
The electric models will come first and the internal combustion engine variants will come after.
Top dog in the next generation’s lineup is the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, which has 670 hp and is expected to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. A quarter-mile run is estimated at 11.5 seconds, Stellantis says.
And this will be built in Windsor, Ont.
“The electrified 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack delivers Charger Hellcat Redeye levels of performance and announces its presence through the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, while Hurricane engine-powered Dodge Charger SIXPACK models will give the Brotherhood of Muscle a gas option that produces better horsepower and torque numbers than the outgoing 5.7 and 6.4-litre HEMI engines,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer, in a news release. “The next generation of Dodge muscle has arrived.”
The following is a breakdown of the variants that will be available.

Electric models
Dodge Charger Daytona: This model features an all-electric, all-wheel-drive vehicle driven by a 400V propulsion system with a high-voltage battery pack, a dual integrated charge module and a front and rear electric drive module (EDM). The front EDM has front-wheel disconnect to improve fuel range and efficiency, while the rear EDM features a mechanical limited slip differential to increase traction and performance. Both front and rear EDMs feature an inverter, gearbox and motor with each generating 335 hp and and 300 lb.-ft. of torque.
Dodge Charger Daytona R/T: This model features what the company calls a Direct Connection Stage 1 upgrade kit, and produces 496 hp.
Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack: This model comes with a Stage 2 kit, which increases output to 670 hp.
The Charger Daytona models feature an advanced and customizable regenerative braking system that allows drivers to adjust the level of regenerative braking.

Gasoline-powered models
Dodge Charger SIXPACK S.O.: This version has a 3 L twin turbo Hurricane standard output engine producing 420 hp, which is said to be cleaner-running than the outgoing engines.
Dodge Charger SIXPACK H.O.: This version features a 3 L twin turbo Hurricane high output engine producing 550 hp.
The two-door versions of the electric Scat Pack and the R/T models will begin production in mid-2024 at the Windsor assembly plant.
Production of the four-door Scat Pack and R/T models, the gasoline-powered two-door SIXPACK H.O. and four-door SIXPACK S.O. will start in the first quarter of 2025.
