Nissan is giving its modern pickup truck buyers something to remind them of the good ol’ days.

The company has added an ’80s-themed Hardbody Edition to the 2024 Frontier, which is meant to pay homage to the original Nissan Hardbody of the 1980s.

“We took some of those design elements and modernized them. Even if you don’t recognize or remember the original Hardbody, you’re still going to say, ‘That’s a cool truck,’” said Hiren Patel, project lead designer, Nissan Design America, a division of Nissan North America, Inc., in a news release.

So what do you get with the Hardbody Edition?

The Hardbody Edition starts with the Crew Cab SV 4×4. It adds three-spoke, heritage-styled 17-inch alloy wheels that replicated the look of the wheels from the original with all-terrain rubber. It adds an aluminum skid plate, black over-fenders, a black side rail and a bed-mounted sport bar.

It also includes black-painted bumpers, mirrors, door handles and grille. There are also black graphics, including a large “4×4” logo on the front doors and a tailgate graphic with a cut-out “Nissan” logo.

The package gives the pickup retro looks, but you still get all the modern features that are expected in a new vehicle.

The Frontier comes with a 310-hp, 3.8 L direct-injection V6 engine, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and towing capacity up to 6,260 pounds.

There’s also a seven-inch Drive-Assist Display, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, with an available nine-inch screen available, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all models, along with many other modern features.
