
The people at Genesis Motors Canada must be feeling pretty electric after the recent 2024 Canadian Car of the Year Awards showing.
The company’s Electrified G80 was named Canadian Electric Car of the Year and the Electrified GV70 was named Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year.
The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada announced the winners Feb. 15. The other category winners include the Toyota Prius as the car of the year, and the Toyota Grand Highlander as the utility vehicle of the year.
Here’s what the company said shortly after the awards were announced via news release.

The Electrified G80 is the company’s first fully electric model and features dual electric motors producing 365 hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Electrified GV70 is the company’s third fully electric vehicle and features dual electric motors producing 429 hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. A boost button ups power to 489 hp.
