The newly announced 2025 Mazda CX-70 will feature electrification to improve fuel efficiency.
The mid-size crossover will be available with a pair of powertrain options, one featuring an e-SkyActiv-G 3.3 L inline-six turbo engine with M-Hybrid Boost (mild hybrid), or the e-SkyActiv-G plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Mazda Canada unveiled the all-new vehicle Jan. 30.
The CX-70 is built on Mazda’s large platform and features two rows of seating.
“As expected of a Mazda vehicle, CX-70 is designed with drivers in mind, with an emphasis on superb driving dynamics, elegant yet sporty design cues, and a focus on generous cabin and cargo space to encourage owners to pursue their passions and hobbies,” Mazda Canada said in a news release.
The SUV comes with black accents in the exterior, and is available with black metal and machine cut finished 21-inch wheels.
The inside is said to feel wide and open, and features a varied colour palette and high-quality materials and finishes.

Garnet Red Nappa leather coupled with red stitching is available, offering a sporty theme inside.
The CX-70 comes with remote folding rear seats for easier loading and has a cargo area with storage compartments and hooks. There’s also a sub-trunk for those who want to place things out of sight.
On the technology side, a system called Unresponsive Driver Support automatically decelerates and stops the vehicle if it detects the driver is unresponsive to escalating alerts.
Amazon Alexa allows the driver to make hands-free commands for such things as temperature control, change radio stations or to control their smart home devices.
Trailer hitch view helps guide the driver when connecting to a trailer.
Some variants of the CX-70 will be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds and come with a 1,500-watt power outlet.
