
Toyota Canada has announced pricing for the 2024 model year of its GR86 sports coupe.
New for this year is a limited production Trueno Edition. Only 50 of these will be sold in Canada.
The starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (excluding freight, PDI, taxes and fees) for the base model GR86 with a six-speed manual transmission is $32,350. The Trueno Edition’s MSRP is $39,150.
All GR86 models, a twin of the Subaru BRZ, come engineered by Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division. It’s a lightweight, low centre of gravity, 2+2 coupe that comes with a 2.4 L flat-four-cylinder boxer engine producing 228 hp and 185 lb. ft. of torque. Peak torque is available at 3,700 RPM.
Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h happen in 6.1 seconds in cars equipped with the manual transmission cars, and 6.6 seconds on cars with the automatic.
The car is available as a base model with an automatic or manual transmission and Premium with either the automatic or manual, while the Trueno Edition is only available with the manual.
The Premium models feature 18-inch alloy wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, a duck bill spoiler, an adaptive front lighting system, heated front seats, leather/Alcantara upholstery, aluminum sport pedals, scuff plates, a blind spot monitoring system with rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high beam assist.

Trueno Edition
The Trueno Edition builds on the Premium model.
Performance upgrades include Brembo brakes and Sachs dampers. There are also exclusive styling cues, such as black door handles, exterior mirrors and spoiler, as well as Trueno exterior and interior badges, black-wrapped hood, black door/side panel graphics, unique black metallic 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, a black interior with red accents, a unique shift knob, and Trueno all-season floor mats and cargo tray.
The Trueno Edition model is offered in a pair of two-tone colour schemes: “Halo with black” and “Track bRed with black.”
