Canada is getting the BMW Z4 with a manual transmission, BMW Group Canada confirmed to emptytank.ca.
Details, however, have not yet been released, so we’ll have to wait on specs when the official announcement is made.
BMW collaborated on development of the Z4 with Toyota and many of the car’s components and mechanical bits are shared with the Toyota Supra coupe.
Both cars were released with an automatic transmission only initially, but Toyota added the manual transmission to the Supra in 2023.
The Z4 is available as either the sDrive30i variant, featuring a four-cylinder 255 hp engine, or the more powerful M40i variant with a six-cylinder 382 hp engine. The sDrive30i starts at $71,554.70 in Canada and the M40i price starts at $84,154.70 (including freight and fees).
I’m not one for speculation, but I’ll provide some context about the manual transmission. BMW released details of the vehicle for the U.S. market, where the manual transmission is becoming available in the 2024 model year on the more powerful M40i variant only. We’ll just have to wait on official details for what Canada is getting.
