In a bold and yet not-so-surprising move, Toyota has announced the next generation of the Camry will be hybrid only.
The next-gen Camry will begin selling as a 2025 model.
The car will be available with Toyota’s fifth generation hybrid system. The system combines 2.5 L, four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, which results in 225 net combined hp on front wheel drive (FWD) models and 232 hp on all-wheel drive (AWD) models. The AWD will be available in all trim levels.
The new Camry exterior has been redesigned and the interior features more high tech.
“Toyota has led the industry in providing drivers with vehicles that reduce emissions and boost fuel efficiency. We have sold more than 20 million electrified vehicles worldwide since 1997 and today we offer Canadians a broad range of models to ensure there’s an electrified vehicle for every lifestyle,” said Cyril Dimitris, vice president of Toyota Canada Inc. In a Nov. 14 news release.

For the 2025 model, a seven-inch digital gauge cluster comes standard on SE models, while the XLE and XSE models get a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The XLE and XSE grades also come with a standard 10-inch head up display to allow drivers to check their speed, see warning indicators, and turn-by-turn navigation.
The Toyota Multimedia System includes a standard eight-inch touchscreen display or an available 12.3-inch screen.
A wireless charging pad comes standard on all models, along with USB-A and USB-C ports, three in the front and two in the rear.
Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 come standard with the next-gen Camry. The XLE and XSE trims also get:
- Traffic jam assist (Requires an active Drive Connect trial or subscription and is 4G network dependent)
